We are super excited to play with Claire in the water. She was only a few months old last time she was at a water park, so this time she should be able to enjoy it a bit more. Noah, Claire's cousin, had a bit of bad luck this week. He was admitted to the hospital because of dehydration Poor little guy. From Claire, Auntie Jess and I - we miss you and hope you are feeling better this weekend!

I am juggling a lot of things right now. Trying to focus on my career and go to school full time is hard, especially since I don't want to neglect my baby or wife, but i'll manage. Jess has been sewing a lot of little shirts for Claire, they are very cute. She even made a Star Wars one! Thanks Jess. Claire is still running around babbling and carrying on about something only she understands. I hope she figures this english thing out soon!

January is lame

So not to much excitement in the last 2 weeks. Claire got sick and was home from daycare for a few days. Nothing major, just a cough and small fever. I past my VMWare exam and so got my first certification. Jess is doing well, she is on a cabin trip with Michelle P this weekend. So it's just Claire and I for a few days. While we were playing after breakfast she was playing with her Star Wars toys (video attached). Claire had a Dr. check up on Friday, she is growing really well, though still small, she increased on the growth chart a full percent higher. She is still talking up a storm, but now likes to try and climb things; couch, kitchen chairs, etc.

- Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Location:Sunset Dr,Cottage Grove,United States

Yackety Yack

Boy, Claire sure likes to talk these days. Not much you can understand, save a few words here and there, but she just keeps babbling to herself! Jessica and I try to have conversations with her and Jess is narrating her actions, all of this is suppose to help her figure english out. Hopefully then she can tell us what she wants instead of just pointing and grunting, which she is a pro at. Here are some of the words we hear the most; Mama, Dada, Ball, Ba (either Brown Bear or a Banana), Hi, ock (sock) and plenty more that I just can't remember at the moment.

Jess and I are doing well. I wish it wasn't winter so we could go for walks at night, all three of us love that. The house looks bare with all the xmas stuff put away. Most of our photos and life events are captured on Facebook, but I think it's important to have a running photo/video journal of our family, so here we go again. If nothing else this site will provide a place to reflect on the events of the past and for the grandmothers to ogle pictures of Claire. Facebook will continue to be the place to find more personal information on Jessica and myself as individuals, as this site will focus more on Claire and our adventures as a family (vacations, holidays, milestones, etc).

Happy New Year from the Sokolowski family!

Christmas time!

We had an exciting first Christmas with Claire. Last night was a bit ruff, but we managed to both get some sleep by trading off baby duty. This morning to let Jessica get some needed sleep, I took Claire in the living room and we watched Star Wars... don't worry, she will be a fan. We ventured out to the store and work to fax in our family medical leave information, then headed home to have dinner and relax. We both found it amazing how much effort it took to get a couple tasks completed, it will take a while to get used to taking all the things to support a baby with us everywhere. We'll see how tonight goes, but I think we are getting a plan together to make sure we both get the rest we deserve and Claire gets all the attention she needs. I am working on a huge upload of pictures... look for that tomorrow morning!

PRESENTING BABY CLAIRE!!!!!

Getting ready for labor?

Contractions are getting more normal. Thanks to Jon H for lending us his tent and air-mattress, it made Jessica much more comfortable, and I think Gannon liked having more room to move around (our tent is more for backpacking). We got to do a number of sweet things; Leinenkugel's Brewery tour, canoeing, chillin at the beach, and some star gazing with the help of the UW Astronomy department. They brought their telescopes and invited the camp ground out to look at the stars, my favorite part. Great times! We'll post a pic when we get a copy from someone that had a camera with a charged battery.

22 Weeks

I took a few belly pictures last night. We want something that is unique enough that people will say, pretty name, but that kids won't make fun of in school. Plus, we are interested in learning more about what names mean and how they effect your personality. That being said Izabella and Guinevere are at the top of the list, but we ask you... what do you think? Any suggestions? It felt great and I was very relaxed afterwards. There were eight other pregnant women in my class. One had the same due date as me!

Yoga is a wonderful companion throughout all stages of pregnancy. Yoga not only alleviates many of the discomforts that can come with pregnancy, but can help you connect more deelpy with your breath, your body, and your growing child within. The postures, breathwork, and relaxation are all catered to meet the needs of your changing body. We work with strengthening postures to help your body better meet the demands of pregnancy and early motherhood, postures which increase flexibility in the hips and pelvis to prepare for labor and birth, and restorative postures to enhance your ability to relax and nourish the nervous system. Benefit from the enhanced body and breath awareness, strength, flexibility and relaxation this class offers.

10 Weeks

Here comes the bump!
